Commuting from Rockland County to NYC

Living in Rockland County has many benefits: peaceful serene environment, excellent schools, beautiful pools, Bear Mountain, Lake Welch, and many other places to appreciate.   If you are planning on moving to Rockland and work in the city, it is very important to know your options.  You have the option of traveling via rail, bus, ferry, and car.  Recently, the Hudson Valley Bus Line has made it very easy to travel between Rockland County to White Plains, NY.

Here are some means of transit to NYC:

Hudsonlink HO1, Suffern to Palisades Center, H03, Monsey to White Plains, Metro North/ NJ Transit, H05 Palisades Center to White Plains,

Suffern to NY Penn Station: (53 min) $13.50/364 month

Spring Valley to NYC (62 min) $10.50/298 month

Tappan Zee Express: provides service between Nanuet, Airmont, Spring Valley, Palisades Center, Central Nyack, Nyack, South Nyack, to White Plains and Tarrytown in Westchester County which takes you directly to NYC.

Coach Bus USA: (Stop and Shop in New City 49J) This bus takes you to Port Authority in New York, some buses stop at locations throughout the midtown area.

Coach/Short Line: Leaving from RT 59 in Nanuet (just off wit 14 of the NYS Thruway) Parking is free, no permit required, and there are always open spots.  It runs close to every 15 min. from 6am-9pm.  It takes 45 min to get to midtown Manhattan.
